The Small Claims Court is a specialized legal venue where claims of N5,000,000 (Five Million Naira) or less can be pursued. Claims related to rent, possession, or pain and suffering cannot be filed in this court, nor can claims seeking enforcement of promises.

If your claim exceeds N5,000,000 (Five Million Naira), you are not permitted to divide it into multiple claims to circumvent the limit.

Before initiating a Small Claims action, it is advisable to first send a letter of Demand using FORM SCA1 to the individual against whom you have a claim.

To commence a Small Claims action, you must submit a complaint form and summons according to Forms SCA3.
